sd1 gearbox speedo

right guys i have now had my dash change on my series 1 got the speedo working but its jumping all over the place somthing is saying to my i cant use a p6 cable on my sd1 5 speed box somthing like its to short. as i got the sd1 speedo cable i had to cut of the end pit of the cable as the sd1 cable has a clip on connector to the back of the dash. so looking to get a new cable any ideas on what i can use has it got to be a sd1 cable or can i use a p6 type
 
why dont you get your existing p6 clock recalibrated? when i did mine years ago a firm in Abercrave did it for me i had to make a little pointer on the end of the cable-roll the car forward six complete wheel rotations and count how many times the inner cable turned then you can use the existing p6 cable.

yea i know i got to get the dash recalibrated just trying to find out a good 1 to send off i am also hoping that they can change the millage as well as my old dash was showing 66k and new 1 is about 85k will have to ask them. yea i will ask stan and see what he have to say
