This year's SARR kicks off Satruday 24th May with a road tour and observation quiz around the Lothians, starting from the Tesco car park at South Queensferry. Turn up at 10.00am to take part.

In the evening there will be a social gathering, with dinner and a quiz, at the Capital Hotel in Edinburgh. This must be pre-booked using the booking form downloadable from

On Sunday 25th May the static element of the 2014 SARR will be held at Lauriston Castle, Edinburgh. All ages of classic and "modern" Rover cars and Land Rover vehicles welcome.

Any Questions let me know. I believe that there are other big events on in and around Edinburgh so best to look at Hotels sooner rather than later.

This is the 20th Scottish All Rover Rally, the first having been held in Doune in 1995. We with our 16hp P 2 saloon were there as we have been at 17 of the subsequent SARR's. Living in Skye we have to trudge our now 67 year old car many miles on pot holed rain and gale swept roads to attend and have worked out that since 1995 just attending Scottish Rover Rallies weve driven well over 3000 miles getting to and from them. The road chips traffic film and mud allude to that when we arrive.....

You can too, you will be most welcome and with anything newer than our car, such as a P4, P5, P6 SD1, Newer Rover, 200, 400, 600, 800 or new 75 it will be so much less tiring for you to get there!

Land Rovers and their SUV successors very wrlcome too!

See you there!

Mine and my dads cars are booked in but looking like I will just come up in my dads as I don't think mine is going to be ready in time :-(

Guys and Girls,

This is the weekend of the rally.

I am looking forward to seeing you there, I have seen the programme and there is some old faces with new cars.

See you on sunday.

Despite the weather, it was a good day out at the SARR. The weather stayed dry until just after lunch, then the heavens quite literally opened up and dropped biblical amounts of rain onto the show field. I hope everyone got away okay as I saw on Traffic Scotland's Twitter feed that there was some pretty bad flooding affecting the area.

Anyway, onto the pics :D

Lauriston Castle was left in trust in 1926 at the death of the last owner, Mrs Margaret Johnstone Barton. In a joint understanding with her husband, Mr W.R. Reid, and her brother W.D. Barton, it was agreed that the last of them surviving would give the house, contents and grounds to the Scottish nation. The Edinburgh Corporation (today The City of Edinburgh Council) accepted perpetual trusteeship of the Lauriston Castle Trust from the Secretary of State for Scotland and took over the day to day management of the castle and grounds.

The P6s

Darren Vassey's glorious NADA 3500S. Furthest travelled and might be the first NADA to attend the SARR?

Sporting a Rover P6 Club 50th Anniversary of the Rover Badge

Barry Gill's car blew a heater hose coming into the venue

Thanks to Colin (arthuy) and a length of spare hose, Barry made it home.

The weather put a lot of people off so attendance was down on previous years.

The P6 class winners in ascending order were:

Barry Gill's V8

The Lady herself :D who hadn't been washed in a week and had been up to Inverness, Aberdeen and Dundee last week.

Class winner was this series 2 3500 that was claimed to have a genuine 9000 miles from new on the clock. I didn't get a chance to speak to the owner but apparently the car spent many years as a museum piece before being re-commissioned and sold on. Very nice it was too.

Great pics Dave, just a pity about the weather. Didn't manage to get along myself to see as I was working, but maybe next year I might be back on the road

Thanks for posting the pictures.

It was the wettest I have been too, the lightening made it interesting packing the gear away. There was ony a couple of cars needing help to get off the field one being the new Discovery with the series on on the twin axle trailer. The series 3 109 tried to pull it leaving all 4 wheels spining so the 1949 Series 1 came off the trailer and pulled the trailer free before doing the same with the technology packed discovery

Glad to hear that barry got home safe.
