Hi there

Was enjoying the G.O.L.D. special for the 30th Anniversary of "Only Fools and Horses" on Sunday night. They were showing an episode where Rodney fails to warn Del of the approach of a Policeman when he's selling barking puppies from his suitcase and he has to make a sharp exit through a shop and then through the marketplace. He ran past a nice looking Mexico Brown P6 V8 and paused for breath just long enough for me to be able to read the registration. Here is the DVLA Vehicle check:

The enquiry is complete

The vehicle details for TNK 585M are:

Date of Liability 01 11 1984
Date of First Registration 01 11 1973
Year of Manufacture Not Available
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3528CC
CO2 Emissions Not Available
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Unlicensed
Vehicle Colour BRONZE
Vehicle Type Approval

Vehicle Excise Duty Rate for vehicle
6 Months Rate £118.25
12 Months Rate £215.00

I think it was a really early episode so probably from 1981/1982...it seems the car had only a couple of years to live! Strange that the colour is described as "Bronze" as well as it definitely looked like Mexico Brown.
I find myself checking out cars like this quite regularly especially with the re-runs of "The Sweeney" and "The Professionals"...cars I'd like to own go past every couple of seconds in every episode!

Best wishes

Stephen Smith.

ps.

Rodney: "I'm 24 years old and what am I Del??? I'm a lookout!"

Del: "No Rodney, you're wrong. You're not just a lookout...you're A BAD LOOKOUT!"
