The Rover P6 Club National Rally 2006 will be held at the annual Vintage and Classic Day at Turweston Airfield on Sunday 17th September 2006.

We have selected this large event as it in a good central location, hopefully to bring in as many of our expanding membership as we possibly can. The location is an airfield is situated 2.5 miles east of Brackley, Northamptonshire, near to Silverstone and can be accessed from the A43 just north of the first Brackley exit and is clearly signposted to Turweston Airfield and Whitfield village.

This event is open to all P6 lovers and we already look to have the biggest attendance at one of our shows ever.

Entry form is downloadable at from the front of our website at
RP6C National Rally form

Thanks
Nick

Is this event is open to P6 roc memebers too? (i.e showing cars etc)

thanks
Oh my goodness yes - the more the merrier - it's going to be pretty big - and it's part of a bigger show.

If you can send Mark a form in please do. We anticipate a very good turnout, if the weather is OK.

Cheers
Nick

ohh! that's right close to me. See you there. Let's hope the weather isn't a repeat of the Woburn Washout... ???

Angie has some power over the weather so I'd hope not!

Will our Auntie be welcome if we can make it? No P6's available at present. :)
The event is part of a larger event, but we all love Aunties!
Please do!
Now have 50 cars booked in for this event. Our largest turnout ever.
See you Sunday
Cheers
Nick

I didn't get around to signing the form off, but i'll be there anyway to see the aircraft. The organisers site does state that entry is by donation.

See you Sunday !

I believe I'm number 50!

See you Sunday guy's, I'll be the one leaving a mixed trail of rust and anitfreeze across the airfield!!!!

Excellent show, and a good turn out. I think I counted about 30 P6's?

More fun was had on the way home though.......... I managed to cook Erik!!!!!! Turns out that he got the hump with me for having my foot down, and emptied his radiator....Whoops :O

I do sometimes worry about some of these "pampered" classics (I'm not saying yours is pampered), especially the ones that get used about 6 weekends a year. People pull them out of the garage, quick run round the block to make sure its "OK", then a 200 mile trip down the motorway at average speeds way above the original design, and in traffic way above what was expected at design time. And then they break down....

There's a lot to be said for thrashing it on a daily basis !! :D

Could it be that Erik has blown his head gasket again?

Couldn't agree more Richard!

It was probably mostly my fault to be fair, I've suspected a head gasket issue for a couple of weeks now, and giving him a good hard run on the M1 must have blown all the coolant out the over flow on the radiator!

These cars were built for fast motoring, it's a shame to keep them locked away :D

Nasty, you were sailing a bit close to the wind on the way down though with the right foot!

Les Duggin's Police car blew a tyre on the way home as well - and had to be rescued off the hard shoulder as his spare was U/S.

I think the actual attendance was 39 P6's. Wish I could have got an aerial photo...

Thanks to all who came, it was a great event. Highlight was the vehicle parade, it was like The Wacky Races :D

Cheers
Nick

Hi Nick, it was good to meet you at last.

All in all a pretty eventful day then! The vehicle parade was excellent. More classic car shows should do this. I bet it was fun trying to describe "Joseph" as he rumbled round though!

Yes it was good to meet many of you, thanks for allowing us to join the rows of P6s while we were there. Why not ask the flying club if there were any aerial shots taken during the day? The weather was perfect.

It was a nice setting, however the facilities and grounds management were a shambles, IMHO. ???

We belted home back to Watford trouble-free. Thanks for the advice, and for looking over the car.

Cheers! :)

Commiserations to Eric and best wishes for a speedy recovery. Rather ironic as Eric's owner was doing sterling work sorting out another P6's loss of coolant at the site. Eric didn't get the hump at so much attention going elsewhere did he?

Is it time for Eric to be treated to a nice set of unleaded SD1 (big valve, low(er) compression) cylinder heads Richard? And a decent set of exhaust manifolds whilst everythings off?

I thought the show was excellent and really enjoyed meeting a few people i only knew as names, both from here and elsewhere.

Chris

Hi Chris, you're right, I think it's time that Erik gained a set of SD1 Vitesse heads, and exhaust manifolds. Phil has just given me a nice pair of 3500S manifolds to go on, as my car has the (wrong) earlier 3500 system fitted :( I might lose the centre box along the way, as he's way too quiet!! If you've got a nice bit of american muscle under the bonnet, why not shout about it!

And Phil is still squeaking about that 4 barrell and nitrous kit................
