Rover p5 shot to pieces

Nash Canino shoots up a p5 coupe.

Yes that's correct in a rage of fury "Nash" a visitor from the America ( and to quote has, brown hair, brown, brown eyes, brown suite, brown shoes and even a brown car) gets even more browned off and opens fire with a semi automatic machine gun to a lovely old Rover p5 coupe. No, as you may be thinking it's not because he's fed up with it not starting and he's at the end of his tether from constantly fixing it. It's not his car at all, but belongs to the lovely Mona Grant.

Now, Mona is the wife of casino boss Eddie Mars who hires Nash for protection but due to her infidelity, things go terribly wrong.

That's a bit anachronistic - Raymond Chandler set "The Big Sleep" in 30's LA.
This must be the late 70's remake, set in London with Robert Mitchum in the starring role and Oliver Reed as Eddie (yes, really)

Well done, you got it in one, you really are smoking. From 1978 correct, lots of picture of this car being destroyed for the film and later the same footage used in "Dempsy and Makepeice"Google the reg formore pics.

The film was made in 1978, I happened to purchase a v8 coupe in 1978 for £200 ( that's 2 months salary )from a dealer. Quite a cheap film prop considering it played quite a big part in the film.
A shame that you "bangered" 5 old cars but I'm sure you had fun and probably better off the road than on.
