Rover 2200 tc series one? rare?

went to the pub last night in my 2000sc and it turns out that the managers dad has what he belives to be a series one 2200 tc that he has owned for ten years was bought in concorse condition with all the trophies to prove it but was left in his garage to rot away eversince now i dont know of many series one 2200tc's are these a rare car? the manager is having a word with his dad about the car as i originally wanted to use the head carbs and manifold on my car, if this car is rare and the oppotunity to buy comes up would anyone be interested? I realise I'm ranting on a little but i'm trying to get my head arround it if i was to brake it would i be signing my own death warrent on this site? HELP.

I dont think there are any proper series 1 2200's they didnt start till series 2 in about 73!
Probably had an engine change, as 2000 lumps were thin on the ground a while back and an easy upgrade was fit a later 2200 and box!
