Another gearbox Question.-- When they brought out the 2200 cars (1973 ish) the manual gearbox was revised with a slightly longer gear lever , to improve the change. Was this strickly on 2200 cars only, or were the last or the 2000 cars, also registered in 1973 improved by the same change.( Seen a late 2000TC which looks to have the longer lever)

I think that there were three lengths of the manual gearlever, and all are interchangeable, so if it is not original, you can find anything, anywhere.
The really short gearlevers were used on series 1 cars. Early in the series 2 production, when they introduced the revised gearchange with the aluminium lever housing bolted directly on the gearbox, they also increased the length of the lever. Finally, they fitted an even longer lever, with the introduction of the 2200 models.

I fitted a short one to our 2200 as I prefer the look.
