Yes, mate.

The gearbox on WOW has been changed and it was a fairly straightforward job. Nothing was siezed, nothing broke. Even the rusty old exhaust came apart with ease.

If we'd read either of the manuals at our disposal it would have been even easier. Sadly, we read the bit which said, 'remove the gearbox from the bell housing' as 'remove the bell housing from the engine. It took us a great deal of BST to get the bell housing out from the bulkhead and around the torque converter. Needless to say, the refit was much easier than the removal.

It now goes backwards as well as forwards and a great deal of satisfaction was had by all.

The only thing which didn't go swimmingly was the wiring of the starter inhibitor switch. It will now start in gear.

It cost a total of £125 ish.

What's next?

Welding!
