has any 1 done this to there s1 put in a later s2 dash in and got the rev counter working got 3 wires white and white/slate and white/black i know the white/slate goes to coil and the white/black goes to dissy which goes to the - of coil done that and nothing if i earth the white/black of the body rev counter goes up then stalls any 1 got any ideas.

I have been studying the series 2 wiring diagram again Gareth and have found a change which might work. The white and slate wire runs from the tacho to the -ve on the coil, the brown Lumenition wire also runs to the -ve on the coil. It connects with a short length of wire at the -ve terminal that originally joined with the black wire leading to the distributor. The white wire you have linked in with the other white wires. Now leave the white and black from the tacho disconnected. When you start the engine, what happens?

Ron.

i have now got it working i left the black and white 1 disconnected and nothing worked as soon i earthed it off the body the engine would cut out. so got my spare 1 tryed 2 of them and nothing but the last rev counter i had was missing the connector for the black and white wire but as soon i as i screw it in to the dash it worked so all i got now is 2 wires the white that goes to the other white wires behind the dash and the white and slate to the - of the coil and works a treat took my a while but i got there after

Glad it's working! If it's missing the (female?)connector for the white/black, sounds like you've got an RVC (voltage sniffer) tacho.

Next, the ammeter!

i have also got the ammeter working as well well i think its right as soon i start it up the needle goes to the plus side and soon you give it gas it goes up even more but what ever i do i cant get it to drop a bit even if the engine is off and i got the lights and ever thing else is this right as to me it dont sound right

thought it was i will have to have another play around with it if i dont get any more luck i will just end up leaving it lol
