Reserve tap seal

Could anyone tell me what the seal should be inside the reserve fuel tap? Should it be a simple rubber O ring, or is it a special seal?
Just taken a spare apart to check it out before I replace my broken one and want to replace the seal as it appears to be as solid as a rock.
Any help much appreciated.

The seal is a fuel resistant "O" ring. If you take the tap along to your local bearing supplier or similiar business that stocks all such items, they will take measurements and ensure that you receive some "O" rings of the correct size.

I have just today ordered one of these seals from rover classics (see suppliers page). I think it was around £2.

It should be made from a solvent resistant material. At that price it is pointless to mess around with rubber O rings especially with the awkward location of the tap.
