Replacement horns

Looks like I'll be using the S as a wedding car for friends of ours this summer. Now that the engine sounds good, so should the rest... My high note is dead and I'll be replacing the pair of them. Rather than going for originals, which sound great but a little 'polite', I'd like something a little louder with a good classic sound to it. Anyone have experience, say with Landie ones?

One could also go down this road but that might be pushing things 8)

Hello Tor,

The ones fitted to a Jaguar XJ6 or XJ12 from the 1970s or 1980s do sound particularly deep and loud...did I mention loud! Being made by Lucas there should be no problem in fitting them.

Ron.

Thanks for that, Ron. I've got hold of a scrapper who has two Jags from that era now who'll get back to me with details shortly (we hope!)...

Post war Bentley/RR's all tend to be geared up towards frightening those poorer road users and getting them to remove themselves from the path of the approaching richer person.
You may also consider post war through to about mid 60's Mercedes horns, they are about the loudest I've come across of all.
