Removing the side plate on right hand side

To get access to the side plate on the right hand side, I need to remove i.e. the distributor/oil pump-section. Can I just release the three bolts in the picture below and remove the whole section as one, or do i for some reason need to take it smaller sections?

When I replaced my O/S side plate I managed to do it without having to remove the oil pump or distributor. The engine mount will need to come out. It is a fiddly job getting at the 22 small bolts but with a bit of time and patience can be done.

It helps to have thin fingers! Good Luck

No, it's a lot more complicated than just removing those three bolts, so you're a lot better off struggling a bit to access the sideplate bolts that are behind it. It can be done, as shown above.

Well, I guess that since February you did remove and replace the side plate but I just want to say that I agree with Torinouk and Harvey. I did it on mine and with patience it quite an easy job to remove it, the hardest part for me was to refit the bolts behind the oil pump, I had to ask the help of my son and his small hand

Yes I managed to remove and replace the side plates, and I agree, the hardest ones was behind the oil pump. But now its done =)
