Reliable source for reconditioned LT77 anyone?

Hello fellow Rover drivers,

i am using an LT77 box in my MGB GT equipped with a V8 engine out of a P6. The box was overhauled but does not work properly. I am looking for a realiable and trustworthy source to get a working LT77 Box for my car. I would like to buy the box outright without exchange. I don't want a box which is just freshly painted from the outside, but a thoroughly checked and rebuild one from somebody who knows what he is doing. I am willing to pay the approriate price for it. Rimmer still offers them, but can you recommend other sources?

I'm sure I remember reading very recently that someone asked them the very same question and were told they weren't interested because it wasn't a Land/Range Rover box. Worth a call to confirm that though.

I know someone who could do it, but they wouldn't have a core unit to start with.

Hello fellow Rover drivers,

thank you for your input. I contacted ashcroft transmissions directly and voila, they offered me a rebuilt 2wd R380 box for a reasonable price. Very nice communication, but it seems they are organizing the box only on request because it will take them a while to get it done. I am looking forward to the result once it is in the car....
