as im having another boy on the 28 of may and need some b4 then
be much appreciated
thanks tom

Go to the Securon site & get the number you require, then check ebay out as they're expensive from the manufacturers. It'll be sort of universal & because of this, even if the P6 isn't listed on the box doesn't mean it won't fit. For example the SD1 listed item is exactly the same belt with one small bracket for the belt to loop through at shoulder height. Cut it off & Bob, as they say, is your mothers brother. You're left with the P6 listed belt. I recently got a pair (boxed) for a little over £40.

hi thanks for that 1 more thing do you no if the mountings are already in the car
thanks tom

Yes the mountings are all there. There should be 2 in the corners on the rear parcel shelf, the rest are hidden under the padding behind the back seats. Best to run a tap through them to clean the threads out prior to fitting and watch the length of bolt you use on the left hand side parcel shelf as a bolt that is too long may foul the fuel filler pipe. If you have a look in the boot and remove the board covering the fuel tank you'll see what I mean.

You need Securon 254's for rear inertia belts.

But not exclusively as I said. The 264 (SD1) is the same belt except for the small metal bracket. This wouldn't matter if you were buying from the manufacturer of course as you'd order the listed item.

Vaultsman's linked to the 254 on ebay but this is the 264 (they seem to come up more often). You simply need to cut the top bracket off. In either case he's got a few so that's £62 for a pair over £75 each from Securon. They're not sided.

Other numbers will fit too as the retractor unit/belt is universal with various added fitments for different cars. As the P6 uses the basic unit only, the fitments just need removing. Recognising this can save you a few more pounds as you can check the photos out on ebay & pay less in a auction over a buy-it-now.

That's good info...thanks.

One other thing...the 254 is also listed for the classic Mini, so worth checking if you have a Mini spares outlet near you as they're often cheaper.
