I have just fitted a pair of rear seat belts straight in to fixing points - no problems

Not happy with the belt rubbing over the backrest

do i lift the inertia reel half inch or so by making a base plate and using longer bolts

or am i missing something ?

cheers

Cheers Pilkie - Thats what must be missing then

Better get some longer bolts as 2" ones are a just fit them make a base plate to keep belt sitting even

Do they rub the seat even when going over a shoulder?
If so a spacer would be my thought too :)

Where did you buy your belts from? I need to fit some in the back of mine at some point, and not sure of the best place to get them from yet. I'm going to buy new, not go down the scrapyard route.

Bought a job lot of spares off e bay and they were part of package -(just a shame spacers were missing, but cant complain for £20.00)

one thing you can do is rotate the reel 180* so that the belt comes out from the window side. Most belts should be able to be fitted like this without much hassle.

Trouble with the inertia reel belts is that the P6 was design with static belts in mind.
