Quite simply i need rear seat belts for Alexis.

The best rear seat belts that will fit a 1972 P6 V8 can be got from a ............. (specify the car)

As far as I can see, any static belts will fit but if you want inertia reels go for the Securon universals. Often on ebay & go for around £40 per pair.

Best option in my book is to find a banger racer or scrap man with a XJ Series Jaguar. The inertia reel belts in these fitted in these often from the 1970's and compulsory from 1986 look period in a P6.

This months 'Driving Force' will have an article on installing these. Main issues are obtaining long bolts and making a spacer to fit to mount the box on the back shelf. We've gone the conversion on many P6's and I've just had my 2200 auto done. They're great!

Cheers
Nick

Thanks all for your help. I missed a full set of XJ rear belts by a few days as a friend has just prepared one for Hednesford.
I've asked him to ask around.

One question. The long bolts are to be used at the floor level or the rear parcel shelf? I'm going to presume the floor level.

Thanks again.

Sorry just read the text under the pictures and found the answer.

This is a pretty good arrangement as banger racers love XJ's and don't want the belts. I'm sure he'll get another. If situation desperate I may be able to get my hands on another set from my local Jag breaker.
Cheers

I think the long bolts will be for the parcel shelf, as you need to space the reel up a bit to clear everthing.
In mine I also had a middle lap-belt which was perfect for securing our youngests car seat, all 3 kids belted up in the back !

Thanks again for the help. Ken only races once a year (Veterans Meeting) so doesn't get through many cars these days. One of his friends will have a set somewhere.

NB - He restores more cars these days than he destroys so he's addressing the restore V destroy tally.
