Rear seat belt anchor point

Hi, does this look correct for a series 1? Was told I may need an aluminium block to reinforce it which isn't in the fitting kit.

Yes, that's what it should look like.

Inside the car you should have a cylindrical aluminum spacer equal to the thickness of the insulation pad & parcel shelf trim and a large chromed steel washer on top of the trim, with the seatbelt bolt going through the lot.

Is the spacer part of the kit?

Also, without the spacer you can't be assured the anchor would hold in a crash as you can't really tighten it much. You could make up a spacer from a bit of iron pipe the right size.

Ah OK, sounds straightforward enough. Thanks for the info, I'll probably make it from some aluminium.

Hemco down here do a reverse wound (feeds off the top) retractor belt that fits the rear mounts. Model 1600051s (short belt). I used a spacer underneath.

This set was supplied with spacers and wavy washers, there were just enough spacers but I needed to gain a washer's worth of thread to get it just right. The bolt supplied is now just right in the anchor point.
