Rear Lower Arm Bolts

Does anybody know the length of the Rear Lower Arm bolt that goes through the small front bush on a 3500S? Too late to call Wins now, where I purchased it from, but it just looks short to me.

In the above picture the nut is not completely on the bolt, and as you can see there will be no bolt left to go through the chassis mounting points :? The length of the bolt, not including the head), is 70mm, the length of the steel inner tube 57mm, the washer 2mm, and the nut 11.5mm

Does anyone have one lying around that can be measured, I know it's an awkward ask to measure one on the car. The parts catalogue lists the rear bolt as 7/16 x 4 1/4 long, but the front as just 'Special Bolt for Bottom Links', which is not entirely useful :(

Failing that I shall call Wins tomorrow.

Hi, as it happens I have a rear end laying on the floor. From what I can tell the bolt
is 3 5/8" or 92mm long with about 1/2" free thread.

P.S. ISTR the 2000 lower fronts are smaller, some one else to confirm, which maybe
what your bolt is for.

Hi Colin.

Thanks for that. That sounds more like it to me, giving me approximately 10mm extra either side to play with, and a little bit more :)

Definitely need to get back to Wins in the morning and get it sorted. As you say though, it would be nice if we can get a length for the 2000 lower front bolts, to see how close it is to the ones I have

Hi Phil,

The 7/16" UNF bolt for the front bush on the 2000 lower arm is listed as 3.1/2" long (under the head).

...or 89mm in your metric-speak. You'll have Harvey after you, if you're not careful. :)

Sounds exactly the same as the 3500 then. I spoke to Wins and they were surprised that I didn't think they would fit OK, but are going to send me something longer for my peace of mind :)

Sorry for faltering and moving into metric territory there Harvey, I will try harder

Just an update.

A call to Wins yesterday produced 2 different bolts this morning, for the smaller of the two bushes:

The length of the bolts is now 3 1/2" as opposed to the 2 3/4" I first received. I now have something to play with at each end on the smaller bush as well as the large :D

Thanks again to Wins for their super fast sterling service :p
