Re-awakening.

Back in UK from last week, I started up my 3500S for the first time since last July. Kept in lock-up garage.
First attempt was a failure. One 'kick', then nothing. I suspect that I had flooded it. Usual starting routine, pull out choke and start.
Since in my garage I cannot access the engine while in the garage, and no willing to risk pulling the car our and not being able to get it back in, I left it 2 days , hoping for warmer weather.
Second attempt yesterday, not so much choke, and it fired up first time. A bit reluctant to run at first, but soo firing on all cylinders at 2000 rpm, with only little choke.
Then all going fine, so went for a short run. No further problems. Running on all cylinders.
This time I had left the car with 2/3 tank of BP premium u/l. No problems with 'old petrol' Last time it was left a long time, it only had 1/4 tank of Sainsbury's best, and that must have separated out because did not want to run at all, and even e fresh tank of petrol, it was never right.
Nigel ( NBA Autos) Dunsfold airport) had to strip and clean out both carbs.
I did not use 'fuel modifier', but I read 'somewhere' that BP Premium was suitable additives. Seems to be right.
Regardless of cost, I'll stick with BP from now on, as it will be cheaper that carb. re-builds.
My suggestion is that if you are going to leave your P6 laid up for some months, leave it with a full or nearly full tank of BP. Ideally you should leave it so that you can access the engine easily in case it does not start. I do no have this luxury, as I can only just get P6 in my suburban garage nose first..
My future plans for retirement will mean that P6 will be left for long periods in garage.
I am open to suggestion as to how to leave the car while I am away
