Prototypes.

Familiar to me. A nice selection of Talago's pictured. The main picture is my favourite incarnation of the P6, the only one built and numbered P6/5, registered November 1959 (yes, Fifty 9!). The photo shows it in April '63 just prior to being scrapped (and before the launch in Oct '63!). It has some damage to the front wing which rather spoils its lines. A photo of the corresponding styling buck and a better one of the car below:

Note:

# Pillarless body structure - B post finishes at top of door skins

# Frameless side windows

# Boot lid goes all the way to the screen - no rear decker. Hinges are as per the bonnet

# Original dashboard design omits top shroud, but otherwise as production.

# Twin round dials in pods where strip speedo will be for production

# Original design of lightweight seats - no knee-room issues in the back with those!

# Headlamps in final position - ie base unit as production - only the skin panels are different!

In my view the interior, in particular, is much superior to that actually put into production. I also really like the sloping nose - minor detailing of the headlamp nacelles would make that a real stunner!

The Gas Turbine car - T4 - actually built from Talago P6/10 - exhibits all the interior features shown and is a good giude to how the P6 interior was meant to be - go and see it at Gaydon!
