Power steering whine

Hi

A very late P6 i am about to see (almond green!) has, according to the owner stood pretty still in a garage over the last year and needs a good run, Apparently when he changed a bust PAS pipe he did not bleed the system of air and he says this is the reason for the whine when turning the whhel. Does this seem plausible or could this be a symptom of something serious?

Is there anything else I should be especially wary of bearing in mind its had no real use for a year?

Thanks

Julian

Julian,

I would expect the car not to be too bad being garaged, However before going for a drive have a visual check of the fluid and leaks.

Always a chance the brakes could have seized, so when you press the pedal they could be a wee bit mincey, drive it 10-15 meters pumping the pedal then look for fluid loss in the reserve, front wheels and around the Diff where the rear brakes live.

I don't care how fast a car is, but I do like to know it can stop.

Make sure the tyres and lights are legal.
