poor sad 3500

love it , ' in my opinion its too good to scrap' , in my humble opinion they have already scrapped it when they left it outside with no windows in the amazon jungle!i thought vips were runout models in 77 , were they sold in 72 or was it just someone ordered extras specially, rich

It's not a VIP, they were all very late model. It's basically the same spec as my '72 though with the factory AC. Very rare option but most of the things he mentions were part of the AC package. Supposedly all AC equipped cars came with Sundym, PAS, and side impact bars. The AC console housing has provision for mounting power window switches. Good source of spares if you want AC and the cloth upholstery was very rare too, unfortunately that is stuffed and I would say the rest of the car is too.
If it were here I would have a go.

They're not VIP seats. VIP seats were box pleated velour in a darker brown. They are correct for the year and cloth was an option, just not a very common one.

I think this has original factory aircon based on the new pictures that have been added. Does it therefore have extra vents in the cubbie hole below the switch panlel? Its not clear from the photos! Does anyone know how if the aircon unit is just an add on to the standard heating/ventilation unit? Does it just ditribute the air conditioned air through the extra vents or can it be directed to the stabdard face level vents, screen and footwell or do these just have un-air conditioned air (hope this makes sense!)

It is a factory AC unit. It should have extra vents in the cubby. These V8 ac units were not an add on, they were a completely new system. New heater box in the engine bay and an air intake via a slot in the firewall behind the rh glovebox as the one on top of the heater box is blanked off. Different heater fan too. I'm pretty sure the face level vents were not ac'd, just fresh air. The new vents in the centre were though. Can't quite remember, I haven't played with mine for ages. :(

North American Donor area...

Seriously though, that's really taken root...

I wonder if you could actually move it without it falling apart around you..
