Hi all.

Would anyone have,in their collection of photos, some good images of a Series 1 Rover P6V8 or 2000 in April yellow?
Would be great if I can find some really good high res pics that I can blow up and print off a few A4 piccys.
Is there an original April yellow series1 P6 in the uk?
If so where are you,as I would like a look?

Cheers

There is one member who has an April Yellow one on here, from memory. There was a genuine April Yellow 3500 for sale in the North East last summer, and I don't know where it is now. My car isn't April Yellow, alas.

I took these at a show in Southern Ireland. If any of them are of any use to you I can email full size.

Although series one, it has the stainless rubbing strips fitted!

Regards,

Colin

Thanks Colin!
I dont think that is actually April yellow, looks too yellow!
April is a paler yellow if the pic ive got off the net is correct!

A friend of mine has a genuine April Yellow series 1 and it looks the same as this. I will see if I have a good photo of his later on.

OH B@##@($!!
Thats done it!

After looking at more pics of April yellow, nice as it is,it does look a bit washed out and flat,no real depth to it!
I know darker colours show depth better,so when I saw this on the thread,I had a COR,WOW,OOH,AHH! 8) moment!
Now I dont know what colour to paint it???? :?
Still theres no rush, but whatever colour it is eventually done it will have to suit the red interior! :)

I don't think that dark colour would suit the series one so well ( it does look great on that though ) If your getting the paint mixed to April yellow can't you just ask them to splash a tad more yellow in the mix ? I don't know how the process of buying paint works .

Then it wont be April yellow! :?

But it'd be the colour you want , and you could tell people it's whatever colour you like as not many people seem to know exactly what April looks like in different lights :D Personally i think the April would look really nice with the right accessories , and red interior . :D

April's quite a nice colour, and I would love a genuine April Yellow Series 1 3500 at some point. However, since the car isn't going to be its original colour once you've painted it, I'd paint it a shade that you think looks good, rather than necessarily sticking to the Rover palette. I reckon that white, with red leather is one of the ultimate combinations on a Series 1 3500, so I would tend to keep it white, but, if you're changing, pick a shade you like.
When I can eventually afford to respray my 2000, it'll never be anything other than the shade of yellow that it is currently, because I reckon it's a massive part of the car's charm, and, I believe, though some don't, that it suits the car.

I will now have to think :? long and hard about what colour to paint it. :?:
As I already have a white car,it can't be red with red int,it will have to be different!
I must admit to liking that south african black import thats up for sale at the moment! 8)
That being a rare factory option colour!

Unfortunately not too handy for you - he lives in Belfast in Northern Ireland.

Are you still looking for pictures of an April yellow P6. I own a 1969 April yellow 3500 P6.
Car lives in Northern Ireland and is currently mot'd and on every reasonable day is on the road cruising around.
