Some xxxx smashed the front passenger door glass (main glass, not 1/4 light) recently on my early series 2, 1971 2000 manual (standard triplex glass) , and I have tried to fit a new window. However, having got the whole frame and winder mechanism out, taken it all apart (big mistake methinks) I am unable to work out how to get it all back. Currently the glass is back in, along with the frame, minus the compelte winder mechanism! Glass held shut with clamp under the bottom. Can anyone describe how to put it all back together, starting from where I am now ie glass and frame back in the door, the winder mechanism in the boot! I have checked my autobooks manual which is rubbish, and am now stuck. Thanks need to go to Ian Wilson for his help to date.
