I am looking at a V8 auto but with no pas

Can someone let me know who could supply parts and convert to PAS for me. Any idea of the cost

Thanks Guys (and girls)

Julian

Julian,
Do you really want power steering?
I ask because I have owned several 3500 models without power steering (which means that my wife has driven them for about 17 years also) and used them for everyday use.
Some owners have told me that power steering takes away the feeling of steering and I'm not yet old or infirm enough to need power steering yet. Surely it's not needed at driving speeds, maybe advantageous at parking speeds tho'.
Regards, John.

I do.
I have found a car but the steering at slow speeds was just too heavy although I agre that once on the move it was really nice.

As my daily drive 225bhp saab Aero has PAS I just feel it will dampen my ardour to drive a non PAS P6 at weekends so I have now sourced a few people who would convert it for me or at least sell me the parts

This is a while after you original post but - give Ian Wilson a call ('ianp6man') - he has just converted my 3500S to PAS and I can recommend the conversion and Ian's workmanship.

Hi Julian. I can't tell from your profile where you are, but if near to Doncaster give 'Josephs P6 Spares' a call. I bought the whole kit to do myself for a little over £150 and he is happy to advise over the phone.
I've been living ok with the non-pas set-up to be honest, but the missus won't drive it (we've been spoiled in recent years haven't we!) and I've certainly noticed that PAS cars are valued higher at resale...

Hi Paprika. If you're the Watford chap, I'm near you (check your messenger). I have spoken to Ian many times and had quite a few good bits sent to me and plenty of good advice but I bought my series 2 v8 last march with PAS
