P6ers at the Case is Altered 2011 Events Diary – Last updated 27 September 2011 (2012 events are now included after those for 2011)

P6ers at the Case is Altered is the North West London and Southern Herts and Bucks Branch of the Rover P6 Club. All P6 Owners are most welcome at all our events whether they belong to the RP6C another classic car club or no club at all.

Tuesday 8 March 2011 - 8pm bi-monthly get-together at the Case is Altered.

Location: About 15 minutes from the M1, M25 AND M40 The Case is Altered is on the B466 out of Pinner Green. Coming from Hatch End you follow the A404 Uxbridge Road to the traffic lights at Pinner Green. Turn left at these lights towards Pinner. After a couple of hundred yards turn right into West End Lane. After about 300 yards turn fight into High View. At the end of High View turn left into Cuckoo Hill (B466) which becomes Eastcote High Road (B466). You will see the pub on your right about 2 minutes drive after turning into the B466. It is set back from the road immediately before Southill Lane.

Sunday 17 April 2011 - Classics celebration of Drive it Day at Brooklands off junction 10 of the M25.

Location: The Museum is between Weybridge and Byfleet, just a few minutes from Junction 10 of the M25 and the A3 London to Portsmouth trunk road. I will let those who are coming know the arrangements nearer the time but it is possible some of us will meet at the Case is Altered and drive down together from there.

(I believe this Brooklands event will be better than the one at the De Havilland Museum which is now fully booked. Brooklands has a wonderful museum of its own and is, of course, where we were originally thinking of going when we discussed a late winter/early spring event last year. We have a super place just off the Paddock!

Yes, Nick Dunning has managed to reserve an excellent area just off the Paddock for 25 P6's. In order to be sure of a place you need to let me know asap that you and your P6 can come along.

Everyone is welcome whether they are one of the P6ers meeting at the Case is Altered or someone with a P6 coming directly from somewhere else but you must book in with Nick Dunning or me in advance of the day. Do come. We may not get another chance like this one).

Sunday 17 July 2011 - Uxbridge Auto Show (P6 stand organiser - Alec Wallis)

No problem here as the P6 Club stand is once again being organised by Alec Wallis. Like last year we expect it to be fully subscribed. The classic car show runs from 10am to 5pm and is huge with entertainment, food stalls and hundreds of yards of auto jumble. There are also several major new car dealers on site.

Location: The Uxbridge Autoshow is held on the Hillingdon House Farm Site (often referred to as the Middlesex Show Ground) which is located just off Park Road, Uxbridge. Coming down the M40 the motorway ends and you are on the A40. Come off the A40 at the exit first slip road after the M40 turning right at the roundabout onto the B483 (Park Road). The show is about 1/2 mile after you come off the A40 and will be clearly signposted.

Wednesday 3 August 2011 - Classics on the Green at Croxley Green (P6 stand organiser -Tony Bunting)

This event is on the Green at Croxley Green near Rickmansworth in Hertfordshire (not far from the M1, M25 and M40. We start with an optional "just turn up" lunch at the Artichoke pub on the Green from 1pm followed by assembly of P6's in the unmadeup slip road next to the pub and leaving there together with non lunchers at 2.30pm for the 2 minute drive to this excellent all classics show. This first shift of P6swill then put up the club banners to bag a place for later arrivals. The event goes on through the afternoon and the evening with a second shift of working P6 drivers arriving later in the day between 5.30 and 7pm. Last year we had 12 P6's and 19 people on the Club Stand. There were 1600 classics at the show. The show is free but a small donation to charity gets you a small show plaque.

Location: Croxley Green is West of the M1 and Watford and South of the M25. From Junction 18 of the M25 you follow the A404 towards Ricmansworth and after a couple of miles turn left at the roudabout onto the A412 towards Watford. After a relatively short distance you go up a hill and round a bend before turning left into Common Road. After a couple of hundred yards you will see the Artichoke pub set back from the road on your left and just after it the unmadeup slip road back onto Common Road where we line up before rejoining Common Road and driving the 400 yards to the show.

Sunday 14 August 2011 – Ley Hill Classics on the Common - midday to 4pm - (P6 attendance organiser – Tony Bunting)

This is a very pleasant and low key event attended by a complete mix of classic cars and motorbikes of all vintages. You just turn up and pay a small donation per car for charity. I am told that ast year the BBQ and cream teas were very good and that the village has two pubs side by side with food and drink. This relaxed Sunday afternoon event has been attracting upwards of 100 vehicles. Enjoy a cream tea in the sunshine and stroll aroundtalking to the other owners. The event allows you to arrive or leave when you please and there is always room to relax in a deck chair by your vehicle. The cricket club bar is open all afternoon and a BBQ provides for lunch whilst you wander. The locally owned miniature steam traction engine gives rides to the kids.

Location: Ley Hill Classics is held on the common at Ley Hill a village between Chesham and Boingdon on the Herts/Bucks borders. I will let those who are coming know the arrangements nearer the time but it is possible some of us will meet at the Case is Altered and drive up together from there.
