Hi this is my first post so if this is in the wrong spot i apologise. i recently purchased a p6 3500 and am looking to get some alloy wheels i was wondering what size ect will fit? without any modifications.

Welcome to the forum falcons,
I suppose the easyer option is sd1 alloys (some tinkering may be required) mainly changing the studs, you can get these from Rimmer Brothers with the nuts unless you can get some one to produce nuts for your original studs with the sleeves to fit the alloys. You may also need to trim down the cap on the front hubs and finally you may need to jack out the d posts a little. Here's a pic of mine with a set of sd1 vitesse alloys. Please do post some pics of your 3500 look forward to seeing them.

Hi and welcome.

Would love to see some pics of your car :) I'm no expert on alloys but there are some limited options. If you use the search feature you should be able to find some interesting tidbits. Rostyles are the most obvious choice...

We did a detailed list of most of the known P6 wheels a while back: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7377
There isn't a lot available in the aftermarket these days (except Minilites of course) as most vehicles with a 5 x 5" stud pattern are huge so there are lots of 18" - 22" rims out there but you would struggle to go much beyond a 17" in a P6 and you can't go very wide without base unit mods.

Might I suggest living with the car for a few months before deciding whether alloy wheels are really going to improve anything?
Forgive me if I'm reading you wrong, but there's a tendency these days (for young drivers especially) to write off original steel wheels as naff, when they're actually a part of the car's character and look a lot better than any after-market alloy wheels ever will. If you want your car to look cool, it's a P6 so already does! Added bling won't improve on the original.

Right, where did I put my pipe and slippers?

I'm not going to get into the alloys or steels for style discussion, but I will say, I hate alloys because more often than not they leak, and you end up with effectively a slow puncture. Steels never seem to do this.

Now I'm just off to tub the rear end of my P6 to squeeze some 21" X 12" Boyd rims in

Your partly right , Mainly on the young point (im 22) i do like the steels but there tatty and i dont know a good steel polisher i imagine they would come up like chrome i have them with real white wall tyre's atm and that looks nice but was looking at other options, i would stick with them as i do belive there origional (have to post some pics when it brightens up) which is allways best dont suppose anyone knows of a good metal polisher in or around ipswich?.

You can't see much of the wheel when you have trims on?

like those not my car but same wheels only mine are tatty as i said lol

A bit of autosol, and plenty of elbow grease can see even very scruffy wheeltrims looking fantastic. I've never seen a set which look beyond redemption. However, I've noticed that S wheeltrims can end up looking scruffy an awful lot quicker than normal hubcaps, which are my favourites incidentally. Welcome from another young owner! :D

S wheeltrims need the black parts in high gloss black
I did a set with Smoothrite and then T cut them and they came up fine but the next set I did the same way didn't for some reason
