P6 V8 insurance costs?

How much would it cost to insure a 22 year old male one V8 P6?

Clean dirivers license, 3 years no claims, soon to be an advanced driver with the institute of advanced motorists (IAM)

Varies from company to company!
At 22 some wont touch you on a classic car low miles policy, others will.
Others will treat it as just a big v8 and probably want the earth as you are only 22.
Contact all the classic car companies for a quote,Hertiage,Footman James,Flux, etc
And the mainstream companies!
Is it to be your only car, daily driver,or a weekender!

Ask them when you are a member of the IAM - it means nothing at all otherwise.

And be sitting down when you get the quote.

For reasons beyond the scope of this topic, I didn't get around to passing a UK test until the ripe old age of 36. I then did a Pass Plus and then bought my first car.
edit Unless things have changed since 2007, there's no classic cover for new drivers - you'll have to take the medicine
Quote for comprehensive cover, M15 postcode area. £1800. Third party, fire and theft - £1300.
Second year - £450
Third year - £300

Since then I have been on classic cover and it is very, very cheap at about £80/car.

All my cars are Rover P6b and all figures are per annum, to the dismay of a young Halford's worker when I replied "No, £80 per year"

Good luck.

The Rover P6 Club has a bespoke under 21's insurance scheme for its members with Peter Best insurance!
So as you are 22 and not a new driver as you have been driving for at least 4 yrs you should be able to get a favourable rate!
Have a look at the new website and ask a few questions about it!
http://www.p6club.com/
Has to be worth the joining fee alone, along with a bi monthly mag, local events/meetings,loads of technical help from many P6 owners around the world,
via The Classic Rover Forum.

The IAM are in partnership with surety based in northern ireland. They will be any quote for members. When i passed the mob they were in partnership with told me to call back in a few years.

Age of the car, your details and use of the vehicle will make a difference. If you have a everyday car then a classic policy is cheap.

When I was 22, I think the insurance on my S1 P6 V8 was under £400 a year. That included a 5 speed gearbox conversion and a few other bits and pieces modified from factory spec. :)

Now I'm 26, it's under £100 a year 8)

I'm 21. With myself and my step-mum on the policy for a P6 V8 (no mods) it comes to £630 with Elephant/Admiral. I have 1 year no claims and have had my licence for 4 years. Completely clean licence, no non-motoring convictions or anything. I'm in full-time work and have quoted less than 5000 miles a year. Car kept on driveway through the day and overnight.

Hope this helps!

Edit: just realised this is from aaaaages ago. Sorry.

passed my test when 38 years old-10 years ago!--my rover costs me £110 thats fully comp-with £european cover including recovery and £60.000 worth of legal cover too----not bad---and they got list of mods done too :D :D :D

Adrian flux quoted me £467....I'm really happy with that....that's well within my price range.....now the hunt for the right car begins!

Move to NZ, NZ$90.00 for full cover insurance to an agreed Value of NZ$10,000 even if I insured for more say NZ$20,000 it would still be only a fractional increase in yearly premium.

That sounds about right, actually. I pay very close to that. I think it was ~£450 before I chucked breakdown support on the policy too. I turn 22 next month, I've been driving for just over four years, clean licence, just me on the car and fully comp.
