I am restoring a '67 2000TC here in New York, USA. I have 2 shop manuals but can't find info on the paint codes. Where on the Rover 2000 is the paint info located? I have a local auto supply that will work with me but I want to start out with all the info possible. The car is Red and has been partially repainted.

Thanks!

Back in the old days cars had just a chassis or VIN (vehicle identification Number) unlike modern vin plates which give paint and trim codes etc.

Many p6's will have a paper label behind the rear seat backs. this should have the trim and paint printed on it.

A definate way to get your original paint colour, would be a heritage certificate from BMHT Gaydon BMHT website . they will do you a certificate with all the details of your car when it left the factory. It does cost £20-30 but is a nice piece of hIstory for your car.

I may be easier for you to give him a sample and have it matched.
