P6 on George Gently

Just saw Brian's former 2000 auto on George Gently a couple of minutes ago! Looked fantastic on screen there!

I flicked through the channels and saw George Gently. I said to my wife that Brian's former car was going to be in an episode but kept channel hopping

The caption on the info for the programme said it was set in 1966 and of course that 2000 Auto is a 1967.

There was also a Transit police van, which looked as if it came from well into the 1970's, as it had the diesel long nosed front grille on it. Not sure that was around in 1966, although the first transits came out in 1965

Apparently my car was on crimewatch again the other day, according to someone I spoke to today. :D

Yep, the programme about armed robbers which used the footage from Crimewatch. Will you get a repeat fee?

I sincerely hope I get a fee, never mind a repeat fee. I can't drive the car wearing a balaclava anymore, which is most inconvenient, as a result of this feature.

hi i have bought that very car and can smell a little petrol in the oil even tho it has had a full engine rebuild any reason for this

petrol smell in the oil is usually the mechanical fuel pump diaghram ealking through the back into the oil, or running a bit rich. however all old cars have a slight smell of petrol in the oil.
