Thanks for the responses. Well rich pictures can be very decieving. I have just found this out top my cost after having a 700 mile round trip wasted. By sellers telling blatant lies just to get you to view their car. I went to see the car with a lot of optimism as I had spoken to the sell at length on the phone, I asked the usual stuff, including has the paint work any marks or blisters, any rust on usderside etc, ids the interior in good condition. I was informed that the car was excellent paintwork great, there was no rust underneath all solid. I viewed the car on Friday morning one word disaster, every panel was marked by either cracked paint or rust blisters, also underneath there was significant rust at all four corners. There was also enough water in the passenger footwell and boot to keep fish. But the best bit is that some time in it's past it's been involved in a bad accident as the front chasis legs had been cut and welded back together. Mechanically was that great either.
Also be warned about a Scarib blue P6 3500 auto that's up for sale in orpington kent not that far from the other rover I viewed. Again The owner said it was excellent and paintwork/body work was 99.9% (He must have ment the amount of bodywork that was marked) Without going into details the car is a shed although to be fair it did drive not to bad. I was also assured that the car had only done 10K miles I double checked this on the phone and was assured it was correct and that all the old MOT's were there. Lies, Yes there was a bundle of old MOT's but it quite clearly showed that the car has done 108,000 and odd miles, oh and by the way the long MOT that the car has runs out in 2/3 weeks and quite clearly it won't pass another in it's current condition. The price advertised is £3000 honestly it's only worth restoration money. Of coures these are only my opinions.
So please please anybody selling there car out there be honest and truthfully describe the car, if asked if the paint work has marks and blisters or rust be honest, and I don't mean small daft marks that don't detract from the cars overall apperance. Sorry for the rant guys but I'm sure some of you will been there before and had journeys totally wasted.
