Odear, found some rust.

Found it whilst preparing the car for her MOT, could be very much worse, from inside the car the inner cill looks good. It's just rusted where the two are spot welded together.
I'm going to pop to the MOT station tomorrow to book her in, need to order two front tyres at the same time. So i'll see what they quote for the work. My welder is knackered and wasn't that good when new. Only two speeds and two power settings that are bound to each other, fast and high or slow and low. That's what you get for buying a cheap one. ;)


 
Oh dear indeed, at least the rest of the sill/floor looks ok you should get away with a small repair there but I would have a good prod all the way along the length of that join area just to be sure

Have you got a Pro 90 Mig ? Sounds about as useful as mine. It's a pity you can't increase the output ( or can you?)

Booked in for tomorrow, I could not put her in the other week as whilst sorting a small exhaust leek on the manifold I noticed the cork rocker cover gasket was leaking a bit of oil. When I took the cover off to have a look at it the gasket broke into bits so had to wait a week for a new one to come in the post. ( I order two so I'll have a spare for next time ). Rather annoying delay. Also as they are going to do the welding for me the earliest slot they had was this Thursday, they'll be changing the front tyres at the same time too.

I'll let you know tomorrow when I pick her up. :)
