No oil pressure

Very unusual on a 4 pot to have that problem.

You can prime the pump through an access plate, have a read through these threads.

Type in "priming 4 cyl oil pump" into search and you'll find a couple of threads with diagrams.

If my 2000TC has not been run for perhaps 2 weeks, it takes something like 10 seconds of running ( at least ) for pressure to develop sufficiently to extinguish the light. This is despite having a filter with an anti-drain valve . I am afraid that it is an inherent problem with inverted filter setups - my MGB is the same. However, if the car is used frequently, pressure rises immediately upon startup

I went out on Tuesday for a drive with no problems, it normally takes around 5- 10 seconds to get the oil pressure up, today I let it run for 30 seconds + then switched engine off and restarted with same result no pressure and oil light still on, it was scary to let it run for that long. I will have a look in the morning and hopefully sort it out :?
