No charge! Not charging! Ignition warning lamp failure

Hi all,
My 2000SC decided that having a working charging system was definitely last week and the Longbridge event may have been a bit far to go so decided to turn itself into a total loss system, I also noticed that the ignition warning light was not coming on when the ignition was turned on prior to start up. I took the fascia panel off to check the bulb in the warning light, no problem there so I checked the voltage coming into the bulb terminals, 9v....8v.....7.5v.....and decreasing. A quick check of the wiring diagram and I traced the circuit down to the alternator terminals, the one in question being the individual bullet connector. I (eventually) managed to get it apart and found the source of the problem. Heavily corroded terminals don't do ignition warning lights any favours and seeing as this is part of the charging system (it doesn't charge without it) I gave it a clean up reconnected it and we now have a charging system again. Also while I had the fascia panel off it gave me a chance to straighten out the coloured inserts for the warning lights, Brucie bonus!!
I just wanted to post this in case anyone in future has the same problem and does a search for the subject. I'm sure this is covered elsewhere but thought I'd add this just in case.
