Hi guys, very pleased with myself...being a complete novice I managed to swap out my Smith tacho which is no longer working with a brand called Veethree. Don't know if it's any good but it's what I can get from local auction site, Trademe. After reading from this forum and joining the 2 white cable together, removed the male and female bullets and changed them to 1 Lucar, the RPM needle is moving and I finally can see what RPM I am doing. However as I never had a working tacho from day one and relying only on the new tacho switch to calibrate it for 8 cycl, I can't tell if everything is calibrated properly. At the moment, doing 2K RPM, I get a speed of almost 80kmph. Anyone can verify that it's working properly?
Here's the website for the Veethree: http://www.veethree.com/alternator-driv ... eters.html
They had the 6K RPM but it was much smaller, so I went with the 8K RPM version and had to put it all back together without the rear metal casing.
Any thoughts welcome.
