New Rover owner saying hello!

Hello,
My name is James and just recently I brought my first car, a 1970 Rover 3500 series 1 P6! This car has been my 'dream car' for so long now and I spent two years looking for one that suited my needs. I was thrilled when I saw OBV 657H for sale on Ebay, however, my bid was beaten by 50p but when she came up again on another website I jumped at the chance to go and see her and try it out.
Her owner who had outbid me, had been taking care of her and using her daily and that seemed to fit my own needs and everything seemed in order and I picked her up today to not only have my first ever car being my dream motor, but also giving me the opportunity to continue meeting great people with interest in the brand
I was alerted to this forum by rockdemon and thought it sounded great so just really wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I look forward to hearing more from those here and being part of the community!

Welcome James spotted you and your car on Facebook earlier (thanks for accepting my friend request) and had a look of the photos! Car looks very nice!! :D

Hi James .Welcome , that looks nice . How abut some more pics on here for us non faceachers :D

Hi James

Seen you on Facebook as well, and the car looks absolutely brilliant.

Don't forget to join one of the Clubs as well - I couldn't possibly comment which one, now, could I!

Chris

Same year, same color as mine I just bought. Steering wheel on the other side though.

Hope mine scrubs up as nicely as yours!

Hay everyone!
Thank you for the warm welcome, nice to meet all of you! As far as work on her goes, it seems she only needs a few things doing. There appears to be a small oil leak, the man i brought her from had a go at fixing it but it had seemed to persist. other then that, there is a filter needed on the gear box I think, he said, just to keep her smooth. Her MOT is up within a month so I am planning a service for then. In the mean time, I am just going to checking her over and seeing what needs doing. To be honest though, she was smooth driving, no worries with her steering and from where I checked her body, she seemed solid.
She has 4 new tyres, new alternator and all new fluids in her. Interior electrics all work ( except choke light I believe) and the small welding patch on her seems to be done to a decent standard.
In the next few days, I will go and get some pictures for you of the interior and what not!
Again, really appreciate the lovely welcome and look forward to more interaction! :)

HI James,

Looks great! Looking forward to seeing more pics as you get to know her.

Cheers,
Michael

remember if you can take your car for the MOT about a month earlier and get 13 months MOT if it passes. Means you get a month if you need to obtain parts etc. Much better than trying to get bits in a hurry...

Hello and welcome to the forum, James! Looked a great car when I saw it advertised for sale a few times, and well-priced too!
An excellent choice for your first car, and I look forward to reading more about it!

Hi James,

That's a lovely P6. Another very nice series 1 V8 :D

Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

Colin

Here are a handful of extra photos I managed to snap today. She was wearing a 'P' plate from her run to my house simply because I was following another vehicle and just for purposes of getting used to auto/driving after a two year break. Came back all naturally but I thought it would benefit myself and other road users for that first journey.
