Hi all,
New to the forum and to Rovers. Have been running MGs for a while and recently picked up Ronnie in the pics below. He's a 3500 S2 - 1972. Originally from the UK has been resident in Ireland for 6-7 years.

Hello & welcome Ronnie. Your car is looking very smart. Please tell us a bit more about your car and what attracted you to a P6?

I have been looking at them for a while and wanted a car I could bring the family on runs in a bit of comfort. The v8 engine was an attraction too, as I previously had an MBGGT V8 and really like and know the engine. What I really liked about the car was when I test drove it was how smooth, quiet and comfortable it was....a revelation!

I bought the car from a guy in Navan who had owned the car since 2006 and has treated it extremely well over the years. Prior to the most recent owner, it came from the UK - the file is comprehensive back to 1978, with receipts for every nut bolt and spark plug. Curiously enough it was owner for a good few years by a Mr. E.D.L Sykes, Warblington.....I was wondering if the E stood for Eric????

The car itself appears standard, with the original spec engine and little if any modifications. The interior is cream leather with cream carpets. It had a new gearbox installed in 1978 and was resprayed in 1980 for some reason.....this is the paint still on the car and is still in really good condition.

Welcome Ronnie, you've come to the right place for a wealth of expert info and advice on P6's. Lovely looking car.

John.

Hello and welcome to the forum, Ronnie! Looks like an absolutely stunning example, and I look forward to reading about your experiences with the car.

Hello and welcome.

I have seen that car a number of times over the last few years.

In July, this year, I travelled down to a show in Trim in County Meath (about 100 miles from me) and was parked beside that car. It was owned by a guy called Aidan Geraghty I think.

Nice car.

Colin
