Hi! ive recently found myself the owner of a 1968 2000 sc in primrose yellow...
i wasnt looking for a p6 but it came as part payment for another classic id finished....
it turns out to be actually much better than I assumed it would be!
all the inner sills seem sound and un welded and I can only find a couple of small patches required at the back of the sills/wheelarch splash panel if thats the correct terminologly.

I owned a couple of p6's in the 90's but never quite got to owning the 3500s I always fancied!

so..its a question of is the car worth restoring (obviously not for finacial reward!) or do i just pass it on to someone with the correct amount of space..funds etc...
any words of encouregment very welcome!
im based in heckmondwike (yorkshire..between leeds and bradford!)
HELP!

its looking like im going to make a start..after having a good poke about and pricing up various bits its as good an old car as any to get involved with.
its a bit odd not having the shiny cataloge of new parts that Im used to and the spres situation seems a bit patchy regarding body panels, but I do have a bit of a thing for p6's and seeing as its yellow...oh well..in for a penny....

Mmm! An S1 with a side stripe. Is it a retro fitted S2 one or a, very rare in the UK, original and optional S1 narrow one?

Chris

hmmmm..Im not sure it left the factory with the strip on..its plastic/old hard rubber that might have been sticky years ago..its actually peeling off in places!

Welcome aboard hotrod! Glad you're in for a penny, etc...they all need saving!

Re the side strip...Chris is referring to the chrome strips halfway up the doors/wings. Check out >this thread<

I've a yen for a Series I...if only for the grille. So much classier than the Series II.

Cheers,

hi stan..many thanks for that..the strips on my car are old rubber/plastic and I see now that they are just stuck on add ons. shame there not the real thing as a bit of chrome breaks up the sides a bit!

your right about the series one grill..but i like the black pillars and later dash on the series 2!
the green light switch/wiper switches always stuck in my mind from years back too!
