Hi folks,

Just a quick hello and a little about myself and my car. First off thanks for letting me join your forum! Right I'm Tony or Tone or Fifi at the weekends and wednesday evenings for a small fee. I'm a ex mechanic and bodywork guy of many years who now restores antique english fusee clocks for a living along with Seiko chronographs and dress watches thrown in for good measure.

My car is a '76 3500 with 50,000 genuine miles. I have the service history, mots and tax discs for the car going back to day 1. Got to love a classic with loads of paperwork! The car is pretty much perfect for me but the brakes did fail yesterday (master cylinder with hard rubber seals no doubt from lack of use syndrome). Luckily I found a local Rover parts guy nearish to me in East Grinstead and he has a master cylinder in stock already. As I say other than and a couple of tiny bits of bodywork that need a bit of love she's spot on. Burbles away like a treat :) The Rover is my 'only' car and is going to be a daily driver as I have got fed up being a mechanic and not being able to fix my cars due to not having a main dealer computer sitting in my garage to reset the ECU every time it goes wrong! Even though the brakes failed on my second day of ownership with the P6 I'm happy as I can fix it myself!

Anyway off to my workshop to hit clocks with hammers, I just wanted to say hi while the first cup of coffee was kicking in this morning.

P.S
I know the number plate is illegal and now ask me if I care!

Simply beautiful car. Yep no complicated electronics that's a real plus.
Welcome.

Thanks folks! Loving the v8 although the brakes did fail the day after I drove it back 100+ miles along the M1 and through London so I've not had much alone time with it. Typical as the weather was spot on this weekend! Mind you I was stuffed in a motorcycle sidecar all sunday. Replaced the brake master cylinder today and bleed the brakes so everything is all tickerty boo again.
