Hi Folks.

I'm after some new front seat belts (I do not want second hand belts) for my P6, i couldnt see them on any of the main suppliers shops (Mark grey, Wins, Wadhams) does anyone have any idea where I could get some from or alternatively dimensions so i can source elsewhere?

thanks

Jamie

Doubt you will find NOS originals, but you never know!
You dont say if you want static or inertia?
A good set from a scrapped low miles car shouldnt be a problem,as you can look for any fraying and test they work before fitting!
Or try here!!

thanks Pilkie, im after inertia belts.

I have a thing about second hand safety equipment, whilst they may not be frayed there are a huge amount of other things that could weaken the belt you simply dont know about, hence why i want new. I've found them on the (abysmally designed) securon site so thanks for that!

I tend to agree with your assessment of the Securon website but the data is there - somewhere! :?
The majority of it seems cunningly concealed but accessible from the "MORE INFO" button. :)

luckily once i found out the belt sizes a quick ebay search finds new belts for less that 1/3rd of the price!

has anyone alerted CERN to that website? it probably predates the one they have found as being the "birth of the internet"

Could you re-use the fittings and have the belts replaced?

I did this a couple of years ago after the inertia went on one of mine. A local company I know switched my old fittings to a new inertia belt and mechanism with super heavy duty stitching on one of their industrial sewing machines.

I've just fitted these Securons;

At £23.95 + £3.95 postage, each, It would have been rude not to, I didn't trust the original 42 year old pair, it's a bit late to know they've failed when your kissing glass.....

John.

John, I've just checked out their ebay shop for a rear inertia seatbelt and it comes out at £26.95, fantastic price :D can you tell me if the belt came with fixings? I don't currently have rear belts so no fixings to swap over.

Mike, the belts came with bolts, washers etc, a full kit. The chap who runs the site is excellent to deal with, give him an email or ring and he will sort you out for what is required. Due to me ordering just before Easter, he used a 24hr delivery service instead of his usual service, they unfortunately turned out to have a bit of a muppet as their local courier and took a week to get them to me, I got my delivery costs refunded (which I didn't ask for) when I enquired as to where my belts were. I wasn't in a hurry but he was adamant, so good price, good service.

Those Securon 500s are the same belts I fitted last year. They're great belts, I couldn't be happier with them. The only thing I had to do to make them fit better was twist the stalks through 90 degrees so the belt clips in vertical instead of horizontal.
