Hi everybody,
Today, me and my girlfriend got our first P6 today
Saved from further abandoning.
we will try to restore it back to its original state. It's our first time we will restore a car.
We see this car a bit as a practice object (sorry ) to start maintaining the bodywork on our classic Mini.
This P6 drove for the last time in 1985, and was stuffed in a garage till 2 years ago. The last 2 years it was parked outside .
It's a 2200TC.
At the moment I have already 2 problems with it.
1) the car was parked in 1st or 3th gear. And I can't move it to neutral or another gear. So we can't push the car unless we press the clutch pedal. I will investigate that later. I hope the gearbox is not broken.
2) the keys of the car are lost, so the steering lock is on and offcourse we can't steer. Luckily, the owner never removed the label with the "unlock steering code". Can I do something with that code? I assume it's a code to order new keys @ Rover. But sinds Rover doesn't exist anymore. I don't know if that is still a possibility? Are they other ways to unlock the steering wheel?
Nevertheless, first thing is ordering myself a Haynes workshop manual
picture. not the best one as it was already dark.
