Hi, I have always remembered the excitement I had as a boy too young to drive, when a smashed 1971 Rover 2000 TC manual was delivered and pushed into our back yard from the breakers yard. That was the only way we were going to get a car like this. I rushed home every day after school to follow the old fashioned methods of straightening her out and getting her working. Soon the car came to life and everyone had a permanent smile. The body parts were replaced and repaired and finally she was ready for her new total respray. When she returned home she was beautifully restored to her Tobacco Leaf Brown. This was our family car and was not regarded as a classic and was used as a work horse and finally run down to the ground. Years later, she ended up being taken back to a breakers yard and never seen again. As an adult I have always dreamed of getting a Rover and on Sunday 4th November I made a deal with a nice gent called Rob in Oxford-shire. He delivered the car as agreed on the Saturday 17th of November. You guessed it, its Tobacco Leaf Brown but its a 1975 3500 auto. I drove it all that day and visited my in-laws. The next day my young brother dragged me out of bed and we went to the NEC classic car show. We saw some amazing cars including the Rover P6's and met some very nice Rover owners. So now I'm an enthusiast but only enthusiastic about driving it, not tinkering or diy. However, that may change as I am already looking at ways to improve her condition. Hello to you all... will post pictures soon.
