I will post some more of the inside whilst its stripped out ready for some welding!

Cheers

That looks like a tasty bit of steel... Tobacco Leaf is a wonderful colour for a P6! I cannot wait to see some more pictures of the car... Does it need a load of work doing to it...? It looks pretty solid in the pictures...

Its the inner sills that let her down, Its growing on me all the time (think ive got the P6 bug) :D

Thanks for the comment....John

Just a quick update: I'm still here and I've finally sorted a welder out to start next week!

One quick question chaps, How "easy" or difficult is it to change the handbrake cable? Is it something to look forward to?

I will keep you posted if you want?

Cheers John

Not too bad, but the boot over the bottom of the lever in the tunnel is bolted on from under the console inside the car, and although you can pull it off from underneath without loosening it, to put it back in the same way really needs the prop out of the way, but you may have already done that to get at the cable adjuster nuts just forward of the pinion mount anyway. At the caliper end it just slots in between two brackets which once the front end is disconnected there should be enough slack to get it out. Remamber that the "adjuster" nuts on the outer cable are not to adjust the handbrake, they are there purely to allow you to get the cable to the correct position.

Another update!

The welding is going well, one sill done and a bit in the rear wheel arch which I never spotted at first!

On to the brakes next, new sump gaskets on engine and gearbox, full service, then new carpets hopefully!....Oh & MOT!

See my question in the brakes section regarding the rears/question

Regards John

The MOT is the annual Ministry Of Transport roadworthiness examination. You speak and write English far better than we speak and write Dutch so you're doing fine.
