Mice in Rosie The Rover!

Hello Folks. Am in shock. Not been along to the garage for 3 weeks. Went to give rosie a run round. ARRRRRRRH. On opening drivers door much to my horror :shock: :cry: Mice have some how managed to get in! :x What a mess! I can,t believe how much damage has been done. Front seats, one of the back seat squabs armrest in centre,roll top on passenger front seat. parcel shelf behind back seats. On starting up there was a small of burning wiring :evil: On stopping engine with rosie outside garage. Further investigation revealed the little blighters have chewed the wiring harness near the fuse box and behind the front speaker :cry: I found that they had got in through the "split" rubber grommet that the accelerater rod passes through. A knew a should have renewed the grommet!!! :oops: Living quite near the countryside a suppose I have done well in 23years of owning rosie. Anyone out there got a nylon faced sandelwood set of seats? You have been warned :roll: Regards moon rover!

Hi moon rover

You're not having much luck there with the car. Mice are very destructive once they get in. Sounds like you have a bit of a clean up job on your hands. Hope you manage to get rid of the little blighters.....and keep them out.

I have a full set of sandalwood ambla interior removed from my own car a few months ago which is in very good condition if you're interested. I can post some pictures if you want.

A friend had the ABS wiring on a 2007 Fiesta chewed through by rats or squirrels
I believe some rodents chew through brake hoses because the like the taste of brake fluid ?
 
Ouch. When I read the title I thought it was a quick funny story but it reads like a horror film. Sorry to hear this....

It's not uncommon for Motorcycles resting over winter to be trashed by mice nesting in the air box.
 
When I used to put up the XK120 for the Winter, on getting it out in the Spring I would have to demouse the seats and aircleaners.
