Magnetti Marelli alternator in a P6

I'm currently fitting a 3.9 serpentine into my p6 mates to an lt77.

I'm trying to figure out the wiring in the existing loom and how to modify it to fit the serpentine alternator, which is a magnetti.

The magnetti terminals are B+ (to battery) D+ (to warning lamp) and W (to tacho, if applicable).

The Wires I'm trying to pair are thick Brown/White (to battery, so B+), thin Brown/Yellow (to warning lamp, so D+)

I'm now left with Brown/Purple and Brown/Green that run to the F- and F+ in the Lucas 4TR control box.

Are these now surplus to requirement or where should I wire them to now?

Thanks

If the alternator contains the regulator those wires are surplus to requirements. I certainly have 2 hanging loose on mine. It's on the sleipnir pae project thread i think...

If you putting a 3.9 engine onto a Lt77 I doubt it will take the strain, if you wanted a 5 speed the best to go for in this case would be a R380, a much stronger gearbox which will cope with the power.

Hello again,

Firstly, thanks for the help with the wiring query, appreciated and bow resolved. I am, however, now onto my next stage or rewiring the starter motor.

This may be a more simple question than I've been stressing over. In the absence of the 4TR control box and all that assembly (now the alternator is self regulating) which should my pick up point be for the Lucas 6RA relay that gets the starter going?

I can get the starter jumping and spinning by hooking it up to various points in wiring harness, I'm just wondering where to specifically wire it ro have it only jump into life at ignition point three, when it's being cranked over.

any help, as always , is appreciated.

thanks

Fraser

I wired mine to the back of the ignition lamp in the dash... (Mine is an S1 so may be different!)
