LT77 remote part numbers anyone?

Hello fellow Rover drivers,

here is a question not regarding my rover P6, but my MGB V8 conversion with a P6 engine and a completely (internal parts) overhauled LT77 manual gearbox out of an SD1. I have a problem of repairing/fitting the gearstick and the corresponding surrounds properly. Since i have to replace a couple of bushes and springs, i would need some information on the correct part numbers. Also a detailed drawing like in the P6 parts book would be very helpful. Does anybody have a link to this kind of information and would shed some light on the needed replacement parts? The box is already in the car, changing through gears 1 to 4 and reverse is fine, but the 5th gear won't stick, it always pushes the lever back to neutral. The internal parts are ok, but the remote arrangement gives me problems. From my understanding and every information i sourced so far this is a problem of worn bushes and springs in the remote arrangement. Who can help?

Olaf,
I've just had a look at some information I have on LT77 conversions in P6s and it mentions a bias spring arrangement on 5th and reverse to avoid accidental engagement. It advises screwing the right hand adjustment out 1/4". If this was tightened down too much it may be your problem??

Dave

Hello,

problem was indentified: The bushes of the gearlever were broken, because of this there was no way to even engage 5th gear properly. The article in question is this part:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWNX:IT

It is very optimistically priced, but i nevertheless ordered one set because i could not find it anywhere else.
It seems like a lot of people suffer from this problem, because all 30 sets are gone for that amount of money
