Hello !!
I am in the process of modifiying my 3500s, does anyone know if there is a LSD to fit the standard axle casings ??? I am not sure what the racers/rally guys used or even if ther was ever one fitted !!!!!
Can anyone help ??
Many thanks
J ;)

I asked the same question to one of the racers and he gave me details, I'll dig out the email and copy it in here.

(wasn't cheap though !)

Hmm, I've found the email reply I was looking for......

Richard, hi. The LSD was made up from drawings I commissioned. As the 'research
and development' element will be reduced for further diffs, they'd be cheaper
than mine. I can get you a price to have one made up if you're interested. You'd
have to supply a functional diff.

Peter

Not that I have much experience of this sort of thing, but would a Jag diff fit?, the Jag IRS dif and drivshafts have a similar arraingement to the Rovers and some come with the slip dif. I did read of a racing P6 having a Jag axle, also see the "Yellow Peril" on this site Gallery.

Thanks for the replies. Looking into the Jag option at the moment. Trouble is I don t really want to cut/re weld the body to much. But will let you know how i get on !!!!!

Hi All,
This is just for info really, I contacted Quiafe the other day to see if they had ever made an LSD for the P6, here is the answer I recieved:
Dear Sir
Thank your for your email.
Unfortunately we do not currently manufacture a Quaife ATB Differential for your vehicle - sorry.

Are you in a position to generate orders in a quantity of 20 - 25 units ?

We are always pleased to look at new developments.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if we can help further.

Kind regards

Quaife Sales.

Hmm, oh well, how about popping the LSD from a ford Sierra into the P6 diff casing? I think my next project is to buy a P6 diff, rip it apart and see what will fit where, surely it would be fairly easy for an engineering shop to knock up an adapter ring for the crown wheel so that a ford or Jag LSD could be plopped into place, most LSDs once out of the casings are much of a muchness.
Just had a quick search on eBay for LSD, a number of options there including a Capri 2.8 lsd for £400, thats half the ammount I got for my Whole 2.8is when I sold it a couple of years ago (now I come to think of it it was probably more like 7 years ago!) anyway, enough of this.
Cheers

Currently planning on fitting a Jag LSD to the new racer that I am planning to build ( once my wife's TR3A is done). I am going to use the whole dif assembly but fitted using the Rover mounting system. A revised rear mount and front carrier are needed, but as soon as I have the drawing finished I will try to get them on the forum so that others can see the extend of my madness! :p
I am also in the process of putting the 3500 on to a CAD database so that I can do mods in the computer without having to cut up old cars. Also saves much cursing, headscratching, and skinned knuckles! ;)
Once done I will try to get it availiable for all of you to play with. Just dont hold your breath at the moment, work will take me away for the next 6 months, so I willl be a bit quiet for a while.
Cheers
GUY :)

Would be very interested in hearing how you got on with the jag diff, or any other diff for that mattter, would love to stick a locker in my p6 once got the tuned motor in.
