looking for a P6

hello all, i'm alan.

i've been a 'fan' of the P6 rover for about 25 years. i've owned 2 in the past.... a yellow 2000TC and a 3500 auto. both were '72 and rusty as hell!

anyway, i sold my 3500 back in 1991 and have always looked to own another in the future when i have the chance. well that chance has now reared it's ugly head and i've been looking for one for a short while now.

budget isn't huge...... but if the right car was about, i'd seriously look at it. i'm based in worcester park in surrey (junc 8,9,10 of M25). i'd like a 3500 auto or a 3500s. i'll keep looking about for the right car, but if you know of anyone thats looking for a buyer??

only 'rule' is it must be MOT'd as i cannot carry out too much these days as my health isn't what it used to be.

if anyone could help, i'd be a happy man.

thanks

If you were in Cork I could offer you a '72 3500s but unfortunately not! Good luck with the hunt. Check out the for sale section.
Regards,
Dave

what sort of price range would it be?

It would be about €5k but tbh I need to sort a few issues before I'd move it on, want the car to be 100 percent before I sell!! I'm too honest when it comes to selling! Sure they'll be plenty of other offers inbetween, take your time and get a good one!

thanks for the reply. with the cost of travel there and back, that may be just too much to stretch. but i will bear it mind

thanks

Hi Alan, I`ll align myself wholly with that statement, I would no longer wish to undertake major surgery etc and what was once a doddle
of a maintenance job on my old gal, I just thank goodness that I did it whilst I was able, and that was "required restoration work" to a car that had been in the family for virtually all its life !.
I attended a small village fete last week-end, took my 3500s along, opened the bonnet and spent the next 3 hours chatting to enthusiasts who either had owned a P6, had one in the family when they were small or were looking for one to buy.

There are certainly some good honest P 6`s available out there, particularly in the current financial climate when money is tighter than before, and restoration projects have been on hold or abandoned.

I sincerely hope you manage to find a car that inspires you.
