I watched this camel P6 race in Melbourne 1973 - amazing , I can still hear it 42 years on .
I wish I had taken more pics . No cell ph's then only crap kodak point and shoots.
And all that FOS car porn !!!

I was there on the Thursday, by 8am all the decent drives had gone with the various manufacturers, but I still got to ride a motorcross bike (never ridden a bike before), drift a Toyota GT86, and cane a Renault Captur and then a mighty Dacia Sandero up the hillclimb circuit!

No, you didn't.. and the article referenced above is totally incorrect too.

JCX806B is a brand new car, in effect, a replica, built by AWS Engineering the company that takes care of JXC808D for her owner. JXC808D is one of the two Abingdon cars.

JCX806B was built by copying JXC808D.

The car you would have seen in Melbourne in 1973 is JXC806D, and is owned by Rob Harrison. It's still in Australia, and is in the process of being reassembled with the hope that one day it will race again.
