Is this a 4cyl tappet shim?? - I've never seen one before

It looks like one - dont throw it away those are getting hard to come by, reckon it'll run better on with those on the other side of the bulkhead!

Maybe offer them to one of the P6 parts dealers?

Hi, they are tappet shims for the 2000/2200 engine.
As Alfesti says they are getting quite rare now so dont throw them away.
If you want to sell them please send me a private email as Paul the Chairman may be interested - engine rebuild.

Aren't any use to me as a V8 man (Grrrrr!) thanks for identifying them I'll be in touch, swap for some other little bits?!?
 
We are also V8 fans but since paul is building a 2000 engine for the 1963 gold Earls Court car they may well come in use.
